In this lesson, we spent part of the time going over three people's nikki (diary) that they had written over the half term break. We will hear the others next time.

The way to express obligation ("must/ have to" - shinakereba narimasen) cropped up in two of the nikki so I said I will try to find some exercises to study it properly. You could also look around in books or online for information about it and try to practice it yourselves.

We also started to look at some cookery books and a work sheet about making pancakes because the next day was パンケーキディー. You should be able to understand the recipe and fill in the blanks just using your knowledge of pancakes. See how many verbs to do with cooking you can find. We'll continue next time with the cooking theme.
